What to expect during your newborn session

The anticipation of meeting your newborn baby for the first time may be one of the most exciting moments in your life. The anticipation is so great that many parents are eager to have their newborn's portraits taken as soon as they enter this world. While there are no hard and fast rules about when a professional photographer should schedule an appointment, it is recommended to take them within the first two weeks after birth because babies grow quickly at this stage. The following are some things you can expect during your session with us:

  • Newborn sessions can take up to three hours. During posing, I am keeping your newborn comfortable and sleepy while posing their tiny fingers and toes all at the same time. It take lots of patience! Some newborns sleep harder than others so their sessions go a little faster, but overall, I spend a lot of time making sure the pose is perfect before I take the shot.

  • My workflow is why I get so many poses done in one session. I am a very routine person and I have been perfecting my newborn routine for years. I do everything I can to stick to my posing routine because 1) each transition is very little disturbance to my newborns and 2) having a routine makes all of my newborn galleries exactly what is in my portfolio; you know exactly what you are going to get with my portraits.

I have over 13 years of photography experience. I can say with confidence that newborn photography is an art unlike any other form of photography. Just look at these amazing images!
